i finally blew the motor in my truck which has a manual transmission.I bought a used engine from a 1987 nissan pathfinder which had an automatic transmission.my old engine still had the pilot bushing inside the crankshaft the new engine did not.So i bought a new pilot bushing and tried to install it in the new engines crankshaft and it does not fit,the pilot bushing is to big.It fits around the transmission input shaft correctly. Is there a special pilot bushing for converting to an automatic engine from a manual.Or did i just waste my money.

Greetings michael welcome to the Froum.

There could be a special bng for it, not sure though.

You might try removing the old bng from your old crank, take it and the new one to a machine shop, and have them turn the OD of the new bng to correct size.

Have a good Day !

I figured it out.The new engine(auto)has a pilot converter instead of a pilot bushing.I ordered a blind hole pilot bearing puller to remove it.Then the new pilot bushing will fit. Thanks
