My car is having some issues. Its starting to get old so I understand that it needs work but I don't want to get ripped off by a belle tire or firestone. Hopefully someone can tell me what might be wrong. When I start my car after it sits for at least 8 hours it is fine. No problems. When I need to start it up again after being parked for a short time I have problems. It won't start unless I give it gas and continue to hold the accelerator lightly for about 30 seconds. As soon as i put it into drive it stalls out on me. The only way for me to get it moving is to press the accelewrator like crazy and hold it immediatly after putting it in drive. I have heard spark plugs, fuel pump and a list of other things. Does anyone have any clue what could be wrong and could I do it myself??

Thanks

I would replace the engine Temp sensor, it could be reading wrong. They are cheap, about $15 each, there are two.

have you replaced the O2 sensor in the last few years?

and some times an O2 sensor could be bad and not throw a code.
