Are there any motor heads out there that can respond to this question? I am currently looking at purchasing a 1995 Cad with an early model of the Northstar V-8, 117k miles. I have read on didn't forums they have had many problems with oil leaking and oil consumption, any other related and continual problems I should look for? This will be my son's first car so I'm doing the research for him.

Thanks for the advice!

Hi Drummberboy, welcome to the forum Yes, the head gasket failures are well known for the Northstar V-8 unfortunately. The long oil change intervals proved not to be such a good idea in the end... That why they recommend a ring cleaning procedure Further than the problems you described I haven't heard of additional problems though.
