Hello all. I have a 1996 mercury tracer 1.9l that is overheating. So bad to the point that the resovour tank is boiling and the engine is smoking. I think it is the cooling fan or the thermostat but I'm not sure. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

sounds like a blown head gasket.perkilation in the holding tank is it steam or air with hot water.check oil if its making oil water is leaking in crankcase.i think this is a mazada262 engine same one used in escort had head gasket problems gasket passenger side back corner was noted for blowning gasket in this area
