I have a 1994 Mercedes Benz C280 and when I turn on my headlights the right side turn signal is steadily on in both the front and back and will not flash when I turn the signal on from inside. During the day it will work just fine, this only occurs when the headlights are on. The left side will always work normally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Graig

Hi Graig, welcome to the forum It can be either of two problems, the relay isn't working properly or the light itself is not OK and you have to buy new ones. Personally I think in your case it is a problem with the relay -

You might find the following link interesting although I would like to stress this is not meant by way of advertising since I, myself, have never ordered from them or involved them in any repair business I had.

Interesting, I can't seem to find that exact relay switch. Can find them for wiper, fuel pump, windows, but no turn lamp, any suggestions? Maybe I could ask around and see if I could find a MB shop that would know which one to get for me.

Thanks, and it's a pleasure to be here!!

I have just been looking into finding a service/repair manual for your car type and I think you are doing wise if you'd go to a MB shop rather because those come on the internet for prices over $50, which would - IMHO - turn out more expensive than have someone look at it

I just had the radiator go out on me this morning too, ah...the list grows. I did find an aftermarket radiator for $130 as opposed to the $310+ the parts store was telling me. Also found a guy who would be able to fix it for me, probably better than by my using Quik Seal on it twice so far!! I guess I will be getting rather intimate with this car in the coming weeks. BTW, do you know of any code readers for that car model? Under the hood it states that it is OBD II compliant but AutoZone won't check it for me....I thought those were universal as long as you had the adapter for it?!

Thanks for the tip on the dealer tiem too!!

Autozone is operated computerwise so fallible to mistakes not fitting into their pattern of pre-programmed matters.
I think best is to take this car to shop. Only if you are set on fixing it yourself for the 'kick' of it you could make this into your project but by the sounds of if if you'd want this car to serve you - I really wouldn't advise you to drive one more mile with it until a professional mechanic has looked at it (while pretending you know what you are talking about so he can't cheat you)

I installed the new radiator yesterday, a local radiator shop had one with a lifetime warranty for $200 with tax. Car now runs at 80ºC and just a tad higher with the AC on. Gonna take it in to Aamco and have them run a diagnostic on it and see what they say about that and plan my next move. I am hoping that they can tell me what the problem is with the turn signal for sure.

I also have an owners manual on the way and am still looking for the repair manual so it is moving along one step at a time.
