help! my 2000 monte emg brk will not work can some one tell me how to adj it i have no clue.

HELP! My 2000 emergency brake is broken and will not work fix it I have no clue!

Thanks Jeffie! I would appreciate any help I can get. I have adjusted the emergency brake cable, replaced rear brake pads, and looked at emergency brake bands and went to parts store to compare with new ones and they appeared to look the same. Rotors (where emergency brake bands ride) are shiney but not discolored. The cable is intact, no matter what I have tried the emergency brake still will not hold. Sincerely, larryb

1 you will need to take off back weels 2 and then pull off brake drum it will just slide off maybe use a ruber mallet or hammer 3 then on bottom of brake assemable there will be a gear looking circle 4 take a flat head scew driver and hammer useing the hammer bang the flat head at the gears they will turn witch will spraed out the brake pads you will see them move do a little and put break drum back on and make sure it still turns

THESE THIS CAR HAVE BRAKE DRUMS OR DISC PADS.IF DISC BRAKE YOU NEED A PISTION TOOL ROTATE PISTION THATS THREADED INSIDE.SEC WAY IS TO PUSH PARKING BRAKE ON AND OFF TO TAKE UP SLACK IN CABLE.REFERE TO MANUAL FOR PROCEEDURE.THE PISTION ADJ THE PARKING BRAKE.
