Alright I have power windows on my cavalier and I can roll down the windows and now that they are currently down you can hear the motor click when you push the button to roll them down but they don't want to go back up. When you push the button to go up there is no clicking nothing. I changed the circuit breaker and still have the problem. I am down to locating the ground for the power windows or replacing the switch but since it happened to both of my windows at once I am leaning more towards a ground but on the same note why would it roll down and not up if it was a grounding problem. Same day the window thing happened my passenger side window didn't want to roll down and then later on that day it started working againg but it was the same time that my passenger and drivers side window rolled down and havn't rolled down yet.

Anyone have any suggestions anyone know exactly where the ground is located I have the book but it doesn't outline where the ground is located.

Hey Robert,

I've had similar troubles in more than one car. What a headache, and often expensive, too! Makes me wish for window cranks.

These are usually not simple switches. The switches control solenoids, which are connected to window position sensors and in turn control motors. Normally, the solenoid is defective when this happens. They aren't cheap.

I'm no expert, could be wrong.

Good luck,

Peggy

It's me again.

I think I meant "relay" not "solenoid." And, silly me, I just realized your message was posted 7 months ago.
