Any notion of whether water damage is likely after removing the faucet key without shutting off H2O? Water ran through pipe/key for about 3 minutes while pressure was applied and probably leaked through opening between pipe fitting at valve and flooring...no way to check for leak without removing tub or cutting into wall and I haven't seen leak through ceiling.

Thanks!

Hi dss1 welcome to the forum

That's a tough question. if it is stuck there without the possibility to get out or dry up I can imagine it will finally cause damage of some kind. The only question is how much and what.

I will look around the internet for you to see if this has happened to other people and let you know how it turned out for them.

In the meanwhile I hope other members here could also share their opinions about this.

Thanks for the reply. I returned to the project last night and found that the piping for the valve is actually seated/bolted to the tub itself and sealed. I don't think water got through.

Thanks!
