Time is running out for me, ....
89 Isuzu trooper won't start, Replaced ignition coil, cleaned fuel injectors,
cleaned our "new" spark plugs. We have fuel to fuel rail, spark to the plugs, new cap & rotor. What else can my wife & I do to start this "thing".

Disconnect the wire wires that go to the coil/distributor (not the spark plug wires) You want to disconnect the coils power supply only.
Next, release the fuel pressure at the fuel rail (should be a screw or something that looks like a tire valve with a cap on it. Now disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail, turn the key to the run position only. You should have a steady stream of fuel flowing from the line(you need a cup to catch the fuel, if you can't get a cup where you need it use a hose).
If the flow is weak change the fuel filter and check again.
If there is only a trickle or no flow then follow the fuel lines from the engine to the tank looking for kinks or other abnormalities.
You can here an electric fuel pump running even if the fuel pump is in the tank. (a mechanics stethoscope will greatly help in this process).
If you conclude that the fuel pump is not pumping sufficient fuel. Before you replace the pump check the fuses for a blown fuse, and checked for power to the fuel pump with the key in the on position.
