hello i have a question about a windstar our car wont start suddenly and we had ot towed to the dealership who says its a 700 dollar job the fuel pump, we already have to pay 90 for there tests and they cant test anything else until the get it started , my husband does not think he can do this himself , is there any step by step directions out there taht he may look at if we tow it to another garage its 500 plus tow plus more rental car -. anything to help would be appreciated thanks

Hi Aurorastar24, welcome here So, they charge an about 400 dollar over the cost of a new fuel pump. I think that's rather general tho, like everywhere else, no? Have you inquired at other places? I know the Haynes Repair Manual includes instructions how to replace a fuel pump - but it's quite complex... If I find anything online I will let you know, here

ware is the fuel filter on a 98 winstar located.

FILTER BACK BY TANK UP IN FRAME.I THINK ON DRIVERS SIDE.LOOKS LIKE A SMALL WELL HOUSE PRESSURE TANK SMALL SIZE.NEED SPECIAL TOOL TO RELEASE FUEL LINES.
