So, here's the scenario: I don't have a lot of money, the temperature in my bedroom is 95-100 degrees, and I just found a window air conditioner that works, but it is too big to fit my window.

My question is whether or not I can build an enclosure around the part of the Unit that is supposed to hang out the window and then run an aluminum tube out the window. I know it wouldn't look nice but that's no problem.

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Hi NeedToChill, welcome to the forum, I hope you will enjoy it.

I'm not sure i understand you. you want to build a kinda enclosure AROUND the airco and by way of tube make it smaller to fit in your window?

Why don't you just break out part of your wall and hang it in there? Isn't this conventional way possible for you?

Bad Idea. You'll overheat the compressor. Not enough air will pass over the condenser, and poor performance will result. Get the right size. Les
