I have an Akai GX-215D Reel to Reel tape deck.

The capstan will turn at 3 3/4 speed but not 7 1/2.

Any suggestions? Is it a cheap/easy fix?

this company has older tape deck drives in new york is were they are you will need all rubber appliances for this repair. great supplier used them my self for 31yrs for tape decks vcr turn tables also.on line cataloge with prices so you know what the cost is.
