I have a 48" snow blower that attaches to an Ariens Grand Sierra tractor. I am trying to replace the left auger and having difficulty removing it from the auger shaft. I have removed the sheer pin and zerk fittings. However, the auger will not move independently of the auger shaft. Does anyone have any tips or techniques that may help me?

Hi Cyam, welcome to the forum

You have to turn the shaft counter-clockwise (that will be difficult to do - but possible) after which the auger will break free.

Let me know if this helped

Thanks for the information. Can you tell if there are any techniques that work best to turn the shaft?

Not really. The thing is to get a good grip on it and honestly speaking you must use what works best for you.

Thanks for the help. A lot of WD 40 and some muscle worked! Thanks again.
