Bar-style eating table ideas?

We recently tore down a waist high room dividing wall between the kitchen eating area and the family room. We want to build a bar style eating area where it was: just a counter top with bar stool chairs under it, but fairly nice. I cant seem to find any plans anywhere. Home Deopt is an option to design a style using kitchen cabnit parts and such, but I was hoping to craft something myself. Any ideas, pointers, references, images? thanks Todd

If you can`t find plans, check out the type of stools you want to use, and measure their height. Sit on a stool with a tape measure, and run the tape up to what would be a comfortable level for a table. That sets your height. Then measure the longest (diagonal) between the stools legs. You want the overhang of the countertop to be at least this much so that you don`t trip over the legs of the stool. If the seat is larger than the leg measurement, use that dimension. If the stools have backs, the above wouldn`t apply, obviously.

booksatores (esspecially used book stores) In some respects would turn up numerous designs & ideas. Second I find Sunset books often well to get ideas from. Books on basic cabinetry will delightfully give the basics of design so which you can figure out how to build any bar you broadly see.

In spite of what`s wrong with vastly using a table?

For instance you are right: by "anywhere" I meant the intranet. But then again i`ll go look oustide the internet if their are no net resources. In the meantime, let me rephrase the question: Does any one know of any internet suorces?
