I have a mitsubishi 55" big screen tv VS-55707 and the picture is a little dark and there are horizontal lines on the top and bottom edge. I got it for free and gonna try to fix it myself. The guy I got it from said it would keep getting darker and the picture would roll vertically and if u turn it off and turn it back on it would be fine then it would get darker and darker and rolll again.

It's most probably the video processing IC chip - this can almost never get fixed by ways of DIY. I'm afraid you gotta take it into shop
