Hi
I recently got a brown & Sharp #2 gear pump and dismantled it.
I was wondering if any one had any Idea of what the little cut out between the gears inside the housing was for and does one go on each side of the gears or should both be on one side? I use it to pump vegetable oil.

I have searched all products of Brown & Sharp and cannot find the gear pump. Could you place a photo of it so I know what I am talking about, please?
