I recently took delivery of a new pivot-style shower door by Kohler (Model K-702404-L-MX). Beautiful piece btw.
It was a special order item through Home Depot.
As it turned out the tempered glass door is way too wide to fit the shower opening. So the bright guy I am decides to take the door to a glass company and have it cut down to size.
WRONG! I was informed that tempered glass can NOT be cut or drilled.
Since this door assembly has already cost me $350, I am considering using Plexiglass instead. It would be a lot less expensive to have one custom-made, and I could drill the hole for the door handle mysaelf.
Am I on the right track here or should I just go ahead and either order the correct size door from Kohler or have a glass company make me a door?
All opinions are greatly appreciated.

Greetings Jim,

You sure can !
And there's some very attractive Plex you can use for the replacement.

Just watch your thickness !

Thanks for your info SW. It is much appreciated!
Btw, being a Transplanted Texan (moved from Houston to Tennessee in 1994 ) I'm curious as to what part of SW Houston you reside.
Not trying to get personal or anything, just curious. (Actually I just want you to send me some REAl BBQ!)
