Hello all.

I have a canon hv20 video camera, that cost me $1200. It's been working fine for quite some time until today.

Earlier today, the camera was on a tripod, and was set to the playback position, as i was showing a friend something i had recorded.

later on, my cat knocked over the tripod, and the camera hit the corner of something plastic.

anyways, the camera turns on to the playback position fine, but when i switch it to the 'camera' position, the attatched screen doesn't light up nor does the inner screen in the viewfinder when the screen is flipped close.

I am becoming very worried about this. I got this camera 2 years ago. There aren't really any camera repair shops in town. i do have the necessary tools to take it apart, however.

please tell me what i could fix or what may be wrong with my camera. i paid too much for it to not work...

thanks everybody..

Hi Shfonny, welcome to the forum

My best advise would be to look for professionals around your area (and if you don't have those there, as closeby as can be) - since trying to fix this yourself would and most probably could and will end up disastrous.
