I have a little craftsman chainsaw that needed a new fuel line and filter. I tried to thread the line back through the hole it came out of but it seems to disappear rather than showing up in the tank so the filter can be put on it. I don't know where it is going or how to get it to show up in the tank. It is model #358.352020, a 10"/ 2.0 saw.

Can you help me figure out this problem? I went to the Sears website and printed off the three diagrams of parts they showed there but none seem to show this particular problem.

Thanks

Hello Schoolmarm, welcome to the forum.

It probably crumbles up inside the hole before it is able to come out. That's my nearest guess Have you checked if the quality of the line fits your chainsaw?

Yes, the line is the right kind and size, and about a foot of it will feed in but disappear.

Well, it seems odd to me it 'disappears' since I wouldn't know 'where to'. So, the only option still seems to me to check on the crumbling up issue....

Remove 1 screw and the nut that holds the blade.Remove the cover and you will see that the fuel line does not go into the tank. You will see the hole in the tank for the fuel line.Feed the fuel line through this hole attach the fuel filter then replace the cover. You should be all set.....
