    As applies to Outdoor Yagi Type Antennas, to estimate the proper size antenna for your location: Multiply the distance to the Transmitter in miles, times 1.5. That number in inches, is the length of the Boom needed, to have good reception. If this number is less than 36, then an Indoor Antenna may be indicated/acceptable.
