I have a 78 350 Chevy truck engine installed in a street rod. The engine has about 65 lbs of oil pressure at startup and settles down to about 35-40 around town. I recently did a compression check and all of the cylinders were in the 110-120 lb vicinity. Number 1 cylinder is using a little bit of oil, enough to show on the plug but not enough to foul it. Would replacing the oil seals correct this problem? I am not sure of the total mileage on the engine as it was in the street rod when I acquired it.

hi guys,
in the 70's gm had problem with the way heads were drilled. oil fouling can be caused by valve seal but real problem is the guide is drilled off.
