Hi all. The drawstring is fraying on a pair of pants I own, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I keep them from fraying any worse. I'm not sure if there is some kind of product that you can buy that would help with this sort of thing. Thanks.

Hi Nevets, welcome to the forum

Personally I think the only effective solution is sew all frays up in a way they can't get lose any further.

I know this is really old but there may be someone out there that still needs an answer. First there is a product called Fray-check you can get it at any sewing shop, such as Jo-ann Fabrics. A few other solutions would be to tie a knot on the end, use finger nail polish, burning the end if its nylon.

Or maybe Mighty Mendit, the stuff that Billy Mays has a commercial for.

Gather the fraying parts, tie them at the ends, attach beads on both ends and maybe apply a little glue so the beads don't slide out.
