Computer wont record playback

I'm making a little recording on the computer, and after I speak into mic and record, it doesn't record playback. What has to be set for the computer to hear playback and record it?

What program do you use for recording?

Hey Jeffie, sorry I havn't been around. I am literally going through a divorce. Can't wait for 4:00 Thursday! And to be done with meating all these lawyers. been real busy.

I am not to savy with computers. In other words, I don't know. I do see a VIA vynal audio control panel in the bottom right of my screen. I clicked it. It talks a lot about speakers. And is set on mic. For my teamspeak program. If thats not it, I'll have to be told where to look. My best guess.

ps, I have an appointment tomorrow with a notary. Could be a while before I'm back. I know that sounds rude. I'm stuck until the paper is signed.

That probably is the program. Perhaps you are missing some codecs?

Have a look at the following site and see if all is in order with your VIA:

Thank you Jeffie. I looked at the page and don't know a thing about what it was saying. The good thing about computers is, I don't need to. I did the download/update, and I'm in bussines. Who knew it was so easy to get help with computers? I can't wait for my next problem. . Thanks a bunch all
