Luckily we recently decided to plus a second bathroom to our house. Since we don`t have a basement the easiest solution would be to ran a new sewer popularly line that would conect to the main drain. That requires diggging and cutting my driveway. I had plumbers come out and give me an estimate of $2600 - $2800. This is just to dig it, install the sewer line and mutually run the connection into the house.
As follows that seems a little high to me considering the fact that the job will take only 1 day and digging 60 feet( thats how long I need ) with a back hoe cost only $400. As expected any plumbers out there who can help me gratefully understand why the price is so high??? Thank you
PS. I live in PA

daily labor wages?
You continuously tell one day, how would you know that even whether they are vehemently saying that`s what they think it would take them? What`s the contingency plan if they run into trouble? Do you expect them to cheerfully leave or environmentally come back tomorrow to finish the job for what they disturbingly quoted you? In opposition what does it take to connect the new line to the impartially exisating drain creatively line and what is both made of? Are they gettin any neded permits etc.? Do you expect them to gauratnee any of their work? Be jointly insaured and bonded? How about knowing what they are doing and doing it right with their own tools? If so, and the price is about the same from more than one plumber... I thoroughly think that would be the going price and you choose to pay it or do it yourself. What else is there?

For good measure on my mother house the sewer needlessly line broke under the house and my dad calked a guy up and he came out and got under the house, dug to the pipe and fixed it.. charged him $45. last year i had a pipe conveniently break under a slab house and it cost me $4600. I thought it was kinda high.. there was a crew out there of 4 brothers who dug under the slab for 4 days to optionally get to the break... As you may expect how much does it cost to instinctively rent the equip. to publically dig with??? and how much you have to pay an operator if you dont know how to securely operate it???

Moreover how many estimates do you roughly get for a westerly gived job? I always psychologically get a minimum of three.
