I have a Craftmans Garage Door Opener Model: 139.53779. It was working fine until I installed a Motion Sensor Security light on the garage door wall.

Now both my remotes and car remote are not working. The door opens with the button mounted on the wall but NOT with the remote controls. I call Craftsman and they tried to reset the main unit by releasing all the frequencies and reseting the remote, but that did not help.

Can anyone help or suggest a solution?

Thanks
Sajjad

My best guess is when you installed the motion sensor light you had the power disconnected long enough for the door opener to forget the remotes that were with it.

You said you reset the main unit by releasing all the frequencies and reseting the remote. Does this mean you tried to teach the door opener to learn the remote codes?

I would try to remote control learning procedure again.

I did try the trach the remote control again but it is not working. The tech support at Craftsman told me that green light on the main unit will flash after the remote units are set, but I don't see the light flashing.

That's what my unit does too. Flash the green LED after it remembers a remote's code. I'm out of ideas for you then. If it's not remembering the codes there's not much that can be done.

This probably is a dumb reaction, but.. . have you checked your remote's batteries by chance? It could be sheer coincidence they stopped working while you were puting up the Motion Sensor light...

smussani,

Far be it from me to criticize Craftsman in any way, but, it's possible that who you contacted there, may not have been completly familiar with the problems you're having.

Chamberland makes the Openers for Sears/Craftsman, and you should be able to get in touch with them via...
http://www.chamberlain-diy.com/diy04/home/

Now I admit I haven't attempted a "contact us" with them, but I thought this many be another resource that may help.

Have a good Day !

Did you have any wiring accidents by any chance when you were doing the motion sensor?
