I have a 1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener. It worked fine with both remotes until we changed a battery in one of the remotes. Now only one remote will work at a time. I can get both remotes to work, but only one at a time. As soon as you add the other remote the first one will quit, and vice versa. Tried adding a craftsman keypad, same problem. As soon as the keypad is added, and starts working, neither remote will work. Add a remote, keypad stops working. Sears is of no help, they only want to send out a service tech. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

From looking on the internet this remote control issue is a known problem that Sears has with no solution. I called and scheduled a service call from Sears. I told them I would be happy to pay for the service call as long as they could fix my problem. They said I would have to pay $75 no matter what. Since this is a known problem with no solution I am not willing to pay them $75 to come to my house and not be able to fix it. I have craftsman brand remotes, and key pad, it's not like I am trying to use a universal remote control, it's all sears product!!! If they had any kind of customer service at all they would not be afraid to come out under those terms. The service guy who called said no matter what they have to charge $75 just for coming to your door, even if they cannot correct your problem. My solution is to never spend another dime at Sears!! They have no product support, and if they continue their ways be another american owned company who will need a bailout!

Ooh, that is not good! I am really sorry to read your posting about this Cowboyfan. So effectively we are both SOL. It has to be a circuit board component issue like the rolling code processor. I will wait for any developments that come along from Sears or anyone else for that matter, and until a fix happens I guess the wife keeps the remote like she has been, and I will do the old fashioned thing of getting in and out of the car to open the door. Thanks for trying cowboyfan.
