Hi, I have 2 Craftsman 1/2 HP Garage door openers. Every once in a while, one of them would begin to close about 1/4 the way down, then it would open up again. I have checked and there isn't anything in the way of the laser eyes if you will. I have also turned the control knob from a #3 setting to a #5. I could go up to #8 but haven't yet. I was just wondering what my issue could be? and or how to fix it?

Ok, thanks!
In the meantime, I have done some research and found that my springs might be too tight....

Well that sounds like a plausible explanation for the problems you're experiencing. Have you checked yet?

Hi, in regards to your garage door going back up after you've closed it. Ours does that when it needs grease. Don't ask me why, but the whole track has to be lubed about twice a year. Also, when it's very cold outside, the lube tends to thicken up, and this causes the same problems.

You're very welcomed! Sorry I didn't get back with you on what kind of lube. Husband has some sort of machine goop and I kept forgetting to ask him what it is. Gotta love that WD40.
