Hi,

I cannot seem to slip on the new auger belt for the Craftsman C950-52919-0 9 hp 27 inch snowblower. The idler assembly (pulley) seems to be in the way. I can shift the pulley slightly but the assembly is too close to the impeller pulley. Any tips for installing the new belt?

Hi Ants, welcome to the forum

Could there be a chunk of crap lodged in there perhaps? I have also heard of cases in where the idler pulley was pivoted to the left -as opposite to the manual's instructions seemingly and that solved the problem..

Thanks, I'll try moving it to the left. No debris in the way. Idle arm assembly needs to move away from the impeller pulley. Maybe it needs to be pushed back toward the handle.

On my murray snowblower
the shield that surrounds the auger
is attached to rest of the snowblower
by six screws (three per side)

you remove the top two on each side,
and loosen the bottom one,
the snowblower then opens up
allowing you to easily put the auger
belt on the lower pulley

close it back up and put belt over drive
pulley

there is simply not enough physical space
between the tensior pulley bracket and the
pulley.

perfect solution, now why could they not put that into the manual?
