I plan to buy a new lot and build a small house. My concern is which part of the kitchen should i put my pull out cabinet where i stock my baking pans and cookware and another pull out cabinet to put my shopping goods. I don't need walk-in pantry. As much as possbile I try to avoid stooping just to get an item below the counter. Sometimes it's very hard to reach the inside corners of the cabinet. It's dark and who knows what I might touch and find there.

Also, is there a basic measurement as to where to put my pin lights in the ceiling like maybe 16inches away from the wall, etc. say in the living room or anywhere in the house. I plan to put 4 pin lights in 4 corners of my ceiling in a room. All I know is try to avoid directing the light above the head of the person sitting. Please don't let me try to direct my problem to a contractor. If I can get some free tips why not. Please help. {Feel-bad-00020072}

Design kitchen in triangle. Refrigerator, oven and sink are the most frequent travel paths so you want these as close as possible.

Lights tend to illuminate at 45 degrees so a light 8' high will light around 16' of floor space.

As for cabinets, you just have to think it out how you want it.

My kitchen plan is shown in the image.
