When my

dishwasher drains the water comes out the overflow valve on the top of the sink. I ran the garbage disposal and reached in, nothing in there. The water drains freely when I run the sink faucet on high. If I fill up the sink with water and pull the drain plug, the water drains freely. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

is this a new dishwasher or garbage disposal that was just installed. check to see if the hose is clogged or kinked or if the knock out plug on the disposal is in place. if it is you will need a hammer and screw driver to knock it out.

Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
