White, Black, Red - and all are hot. From 97v(red) to 120v when I use my ohmmeter. Shouldn't white to ground read 0 volts? Where could the problem be. A while ago, three wall outlets went dead. All at the same time. The lines are in the wall of a mobile home. How can I fix this?

Hi rachet,

I have a harness with 3 wires. White, black, red and ground. Using my ohmmeter, connecting the white to ground I get 120v, black to ground 120v, red to ground 58v (it was 97v), white to black 0v, white to red 0v, red to black 0v. There is no red wire for that circuit on the breaker. As a matter of fact, there is no red wire anywhere except in the harness.

I know that when an appliance, like a radio, on that circuit is turned on one will get a reading from white to ground. However, I have turned everything off.

When I opend the breaker box yesterday, the neutral (white) for that circuit was spliced together and the connection was badly burned. When I pulled the connection apart, it sparked. measuring from white to white (the connection now apart) I got 119v.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
