I need to replace the rubber/vinyl insert in the threshold in 3 exterior doors.

I've tried to remove the inserts - but they're tough little buggers, and I'm splitting off the edges. No big deal, except I know it'll be impossible to put the new ones in.

I cannot remove the entire threshold as they go underneath the door jab.

So far, the only tool I've used is a flathead screwdriver.

The inserts I'm trying to remove are shaped like this: http://www.hardwarestore.com/media/product/ 616199_front200.jpg

Any suggestions?

I'm a novice - but know enough to get into trouble with.

Thanks ahead of time!

Hi Marvg, welcome to the forum. I hope you will like it here

You should try cutting it with a back saw and remove it with a pry bar. This is the method I heard usually people remove the inserts of their thresholds
