I can not take my car on the highway as I can not get my speed up for several minutes. I will floor the gas pedal but it will only climb very slowly and I can barey get the speed up to 100 mph. This happened once before and seem to get better when I put fuel injector cleaner in the car. The car has had a few hard shifting experiences in the last while. I'm trying to decide whether or not the car is fixable without breaking the bank : but I really can't afford a new car.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

start with fuel filter change.sound like restricted flow.also next thing is fuel pump relay not responding at the right time.controled by throttle positioner accerlator dash pot.then chrysler famous fuel pump failure last thing.you have a flow problem.one other thing possible thing is plug cat or converter in the exhaust.
