A fantastic product called Thermilate can help to save energy, money and the environment. And it is realy easy to use, going in both internal and external paints.

Its a product that anyone can use. Just mix into your paint and apply to the walls and ceilings turning the painted surface into a thermal barrier meaning you can save money on your energy bill, a saving of up to 25%, which means that you are doing your bit to help the environment.

There is a great offer on at the moment of 3for2.

Hi Hannah, welcome to the forum I hope you will enjoy it here!

I just received an email from a friend visiting the US that home isolation is not done very widely in the US.

Is that so?

I would, err... am questioning this products claim. The R value, or resistance to thermal transfer available at this time is closed cell polyurethane foam. This foam has an aged R value of R-6 per inch. I don't think anything just a few mils thick would be able to provide a significant if any resistance to thermal transfer unless there was some sort of cellular structure. A savings of up to 25% is just a rediculous claim. Don't waste your money, even if it's 3 for 2. Take the money and put some new weather stripping around your doors, crawl space, and attic access, it will be money much better spent.
