I acquired a couple 4 lamp fluorescent light fixtures. Problem is the old owner cut the wires to one set of lamps I need the wiring diagram so I can reconnect. Can anyone help me? The ballast is a 2 lamp T8.

Greetings bulldog1 welcome to the Forum.

The above Dwg is for a 2 Lamp System.
You'll need another one like it, to accommodate 4 Lamps.
Or, you can buy a 4 Lamp Ballast.

More Info:
Residential Ballasts are usually 120V input Voltage.
You can get them in Single, 2 Lamp and 4 Lamp types.
Additionally, the Ballast requires the lamps to be of a certain wattage and Diameter (T-12, T-8).

So you could have a 2 Lamp 40 Watt, or a 2 Lamp 32 Watt.
Either one of those, could specifically be for a T-12 or T-8 Lamps.
Just read the information on the Ballast, and it will tell you if you are applying it to the correct fixture.

IF that information is not on the Ballast, you take a chance on it burning out the Lamps, or it just not working at all.

Have a good Day !

Thanks but it's not exactly what I need. I have a four tube fixture and the wires are cut from the inner set. I don't know how or to which wires to reconnect to.

bulldog1,

"Inter Set"?, you mean the two inside tubes, not the outside I think !

Ok...
There are two wires on one of the Ballast (Black and White) that's the 120 Volt.

On the other end of the Ballast:
Find the White/yellow Wire:
It should lead to ALL the tubes on one end.

Find four other Colors (anything besides white/yellow)
All coming out of the same end of the Ballast.
Each individual color, goes to an individual tube.

Now:
If the wires in the fixture are missing, you can replace them with any color wire you have, as long as you connect each lamp to a different color coming out of the Ballast.
Is that what you need?

Have a good Day !
