I washed some rugs and the backing came off. NOw the washer won't drain.

did the backing come off as a whole, or a bunch of little pieces? I know we had a problem with ours when a kid's sock migrated into the ball float/drain tube. clogged it up completely!

Certainly the backing from a bathroom rug could easily do the same -- if it tore up it into pieces.
