2001 Grand Am. Fuel Pump fails to start. After replacing fuel Pump, same problem. Now trying to turn key to on position until I hear pump sound. then starts ok. may take many minutes to hear the sound of the fuel pump motor but as soon as I do I try to start and it does. Once started it has never stalled nor stopped. Mechanic who replaced pump is baffled and now thinks it may be fuel pump relay...
He says he has ordered it and will swap that out.
any suggestions?
