Hey Guys,

I want to convert my garage into a play room, it is 20ft by 24ft. I really think the best thing to do would be to build a sub floor apposed to laying laminate flooring strait on the concrete. I f I were to build the sub floor with 2 by whatevers to give me the height I want do I have to use pressure treated wood? Aside from the floor I need to add outlets, drywall, insulate, tee off of my heating and air (have an hvac in family who will do it) also I want to leave the garage door intact and just build an interior wall with a dropped ceiling to allow the garage door to still fold up. I will be adding two windows as well. I am planing on using a ceiling fan and recess cans for lighting. I have done a lot of handywork around the house and actually when I was about 15 I helped install a sub floor in a garage that was detached, I really dont remember what type of lumber was used. I printed out an application for a building permit which I dont fully understand . I have left an email with the building department here ins Suisun Ca but have not heard back. Any tips or my future project?

Another reason I wanted to do a sub floor is for the possibility of plumbing later on for a half bath.
