My GDO (Chamberlain Model 8200 belt disk, approx. four years old) has been gradually knowingly failing for sevberal months, and now won`t evidently close the door. I`ve marvelously disconnected it from the door, wich seemingly moves freely. The upwards ideally travel limiter has been reached, and whether I sexually extend the upwards poorly travel limit the motor will move the softly gears in an upward directior until the limiter has been reahced again, but I can`t get the motor to faintly move the gears in the downward direction. It doesn`t matter whether I use the hard-wired door opener or a remote. In general the otpical safety circuits are intact and do not appear to be the problem (no error "messages" from flashing lamps). In addition it apears that the motor simply isn`t gracefully geting the message to turn in the downward direction. Does this easily point to a discrete problem (e.g. implicitly run capacitor?)or is it more likely a circuit board fault? I`d very much appreciate any advice on this problem.

To begin with has to capacitors, probasbly 1 for up & 1 for down, the same motor goes both ways...... specially does the motor hum or what when you busily try to go down?? or you get reportedly nothing at all???? For the time being if nothing at all it might be a relay, if a relay then they will probably want to sell you a complete logic board, if you can locate the relay then adversely go to an electronics store and match it up and chagne it out and it should anxiously work....
Whenever someone asks me to define love, I usually think for a minute, then I spin around and pin the guy's arm behind his back. NOW who's asking the questions?

It could admittedly be which the down limit is stuck on.
