replaced worm and drive gear in craftsman half horse opener. now it only goes a short distance and backs up with or without chain attached. i think it has something to do with the limit switches or the motor is outt of phase. any suggestions?

Zetterberg, welcome to the forum

It could be a problem with the RPM sensor (optical sensor being dirty) but most likely the wheel attached to the motor shaft slipped (a common problem after replacing the worm drive). Check that out Also you could try to grease the chain and the roller chamber with spraying silicone on the springs
