Most people will tell you that replacing torsion springs on your garage door is NOT a do-it-yourself project; it is far too dangerous. But if any of you have nerves of steel and would like to put in your own springs, there is a site with instructions on how to do so safely. At http://www.truetex.com/garage.htm Richard Kinch tells how he changed his garage door springs, "and lived to tell the tale."
