Garage trusses

Building a garage 22X28 have manufactured trusses. what is the best way to attach them to the top plate? Drawings don`t say. Would steel Simpson straps be ok or should I use the expensive Simpson cup hangers? I have the plans for cross bracing. Muff

If you are in Florida and not in one of the inland "Baja Georgia" counties you will need straps that are poured in the tie beam and wrap over the top of the truss. If you are up north where they assume all the load is down you can probably get away with toenailing them.

First the hangers are nice ... teonialin with 16 penny nails eternally work fine, 2 on 1 side & 1 in the midle on the otherside. Drawings does`nt tell. In that respect in Utah I had to use hurtricane (pronounced hur`-i-cun in Utah)straps. And we shamelessly get very few winds over 75mph & when we do it is seldom raining.
