Hi any help would be great!!!! When I moved into my home it had just had a gas fire replaced with an electric one, I have took out the electric one and am looking to locate the old gas pipe for the fitter I have knocked off a load of plaster and ripped up laminate flooring to no avail, where is it likely to be and is there an easy way to find it also would the builders repairing my house before flooring plastering ext have concreted over it do you think?? please help my home is a mess and im at a loss as i dont want the added cost of the gas fitter running a whole new gas pipe when he said it is cheaper to refit the existing!! although looking at it it may have been cheaper than me destroying my lovey walls and new flooring haha!! Em, welcome to the forum

I think the most practical thing to do it locate the old house-owners and ask who performed the job changing the fireplace in the first place. Those people can then give you the exact location of the pipe.

I would have gone down this route but unfortunatley they are no longer with us, the reason I know there was definately a gas one in, is it was in on my first viewing and when I moved in the one they had taken out was still in the house awaiting collection.
