Hello I have a Mitsubishi WD-73738
I changed out the bulb like three years after i bought it and work just fine, I've had this TV for about 5-7yrs. I started to notice after a while that when i turned on the TV is was dark and it took time for the picture to get bright to where it was supposed to be? then after another good while, I turned on the set and I can hear the sound but the picture wouldn't come on? so I purchased a new Bulb and put it in just as i did the last time, but this time nothing happened just sound? I forgot the Blinking lights?? I think it was 3 yellow and 4 red or something like that? can you help? Thank You Tony..

Your error codes- So your error is 34.
Lamp.
When you ordered a lamp, was it a OEM Lamp-
(Original Equipment Manufacture Lamp) or a cheap imitation?

"TV is was dark and it took time for the picture to get bright"
100% classic for a lamp nearing end of life
Now if you don't think it's lamp error 44 refers to power from Lamp Ballast to Light Engine, and check connection and power supply.
If you think Lamps are good, then replace Lamp Ballast.
Your Lamp Ballast-

I got to leave for awhile but there's still a thermistor in between Lamp Ballast and Lamp.
There's also your lamp switch which is held closed by your lamp cage.

I'll check into that

Before you order, there's easy testing you can do-
With thermal sensor, justuse a jumper wire to bypass thermal sensor-
That's a test only.
You can do same at Lamp switch, to see if that is your problem.

How can I know if the switch is bad? I basically connected both wires together and the code lights still was blinking four yello then four red? Do u think it could be the sensor where the bulb connects? That's why I'm not getting a picture? I really appreciate your help Thank You so much!!

"I think it was 3 yellow and 4 red or something like that"
Can you recheck again?
You can do this 2 ways-
Connect the 2 wires together, just like you did with the thermal sensor, or build up the cage where your cage hits the switch with pieces of electrical tape--

44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
This is for a earlier Mitsubishi DLP but should be the same as your set as Mitsubishi rarely changes things like this.
If you get the lamp abnormal it is likely your problem.

DVI Cable-Example-

FMT Board

Inspect that cable at both ends-
Also"If you get the lamp abnormal it is likely your problem"
