Hi
I will be staining the deck in the house we bought in the next couple of weeks, and since I am a new diyer, I was wondering if the type of stain I chose needed to be in accordance with the type of wood the deck is made of, or is that unimportant? any other advice would be welcome. Thanks

If you look on the side of the container of stain, it should say for what type of wood.

Most stains are good for many types of wood.
