I need a completion certificate for work done and have been told by an electrician that the lighting was completed under he old regs and that they will need to take up the floor upstairs to put in a grey junction box with inpection hatch to sort it out. The lighting in that room consists of 4 banks of lights controlled from 4 separate switches.

I would be grateful if anyone can explain this 'grey junction box with access' - does it sound correct that this is definitely needed? (wish I'd gone with one lightbulb in the middle of the room now!)
