I have this high pitch sound coming from my 27" LG TV.

Anyone know what the problem may be and if there is a general msolution?

depends what kind of t.v. it is tube type lcd plasma

It is a tube TV. It is a 27" Flatron LG TV

yes most high pitch squeel comes from the horiz osc coil it starts to vibrate at different freq.sometimes changing the chanells quites the t.v. down.we use to in the field use a hot glue gun to quite the noise.find the horiz circuit and glue the tops and cover the coil with glue let the glue run down the sides of the coils to the board let try a few mins. with the set unplugged of coarse.to find noise with the set on tap or press on the coils or parts you will here them quite down.just be carefull lot of voltage in there.I sometimes use my hand or plastic didle stick.
