My electric hot water heater is not putting out like it used to--help

I'm afraid I don't understand the problem "not putting out' ?

check your elements. one of the two elements in your electric hot water heater could be bad. you can check these by shutting off the power first, of course. and diconnecting the wires to your elements, then use a multi-meter to check for continuity.
