how can i make a good washing machine out of two defunct ones? I have one that has a leak somewhere around the drum but good motor and timers and pump, and another that does not leak but has bad timer and agitates poorly. Is this something I can do by myself, and how do i figure out how to do it. I hate to think of myself as a helpless female.

are they front loaders or top laoders. you could maybe try to switch the controlls out.

They are top loaders. Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 Series. I think I've isolated the leak to the bolts that hold the outer drum on. Have to figure out how to get the cover off and am trying to find a manual or something. I'm determined!
