maribro1,
Sounds like your problem with the Tork Wrench, started about 10 years ago, when we both were putting out lives on the line, for Family and Country.
As a Veteran, THANK YOU, for sharing that commitment with me.
No doubt you're talking about the "Clicker" type bar, not the "Torsion" type.
Those Clickers are assembled in a near "Sterile" environment.
Any contamination on the cam, springs or stops, could seriously effect the Tork delivered, and subsequently break a bolt off, or in the opposite, cause a Headgasket to leak over into the waterjacket or adjacent cylinder. Numerous problems could be quoted.
Being 17, headstrong, obstinate and egosentric is not a condition I am unfamiliar with, personally!
But, after having to pull the Head off AGAIN for the second time, to roll a Aircraft Grade Bolt out with a Hammer and Punch, sorta deflated my ego a bit, and I started paying attention,
First: to the operating instructions. and
Second: to a Motors Manual. I didn't have a Dad such as you, who cared enough to try to teach me something.
In sort of an odd way, I envy your son, even though now it's difficult, but, if he has even a lick of sense, at some point he's going to realize what a valuable comrad and friend he could have in you, and then, all the trouble, time, and effort you put into the relationship, will be SO worth it.
So, be patient my friend, and, that's how you use a Tork Wrench.
Have a good Day!
S.W.
